  1. The Critical Mandate of Escape (original presentation)
This presentation is based on the true story of the author’s real life experiences in Belize in the 1970’s -- a naïve young girl seeking an idealistic lifestyle of tropical splendour and instead coming face-to-face with the dark and devastating forces of human nature. The presentation provides an insightful admonition that domestic violence does more than threaten a relationship; it can threaten life itself. Ms. Koerner’s message encourages women to empower themselves with knowledge, to understand the insidious nature of domestic violence and learn to put their own survival first. She teaches by example that women must get out of toxic relationships or they may never survive to be anyone’s mother, daughter, sister, friend, or inspiration. A powerful motivational message — it will make you laugh, make you cry, and allow you to share in personal triumph over impossible odds.

  2. The Essence of Empowerment: from Cave to Cosmopolitan (new)
This fresh innovative presentation, available as of October 15th, 2010, portrays the history of women as related to pair-bonding, gender roles, male dominance, and domestic violence. Going back to the prehistory of our species, Ms. Koerner presents a fascinating snapshot of women in ancient cultures — Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Middle Age Renaissance, and feudal Japan. She will provide insight into the Women’s Rights Movement, the sacrifices made to bring about the Nineteenth Amendment, as well as the women’s “libbers” of the 1960’s, and our continuing crusade for equality in the modern era. Taking a sobering look at shocking current ethnic practices in India, Africa, China, the Middle East, and the female oppression that continues to exist in our contemporary world, Ms. Koerner will focus on the objectives of global women’s empowerment and real-life solutions for critical human rights issues.
